The word 'share' literally means 'partnership'. 'Stock Certificate' is each of the equivalent parts of a company's main capital. All legal regulations regarding stock certificates are contained in the Capital Markets Law and the Turkish Commercial Code. In the Turkish Commercial Code, stock certificate is defined as the smallest part of the company's main capital.
Shareholders have the right to be a partner in the company, to participate in the management, dividends and voting rights, taking into account their share rate in the company's capital. Capital companies are required to obtain permission from the CMB (Capital Markets Board) to issue stock certificates. Stock certificates are issued by companies for the purpose of providing resources, they are usually issued by the public offering method and begin to be traded on the stock exchanges. Physically printed stock certificates are called Paper Stock Certificates.
